Last Minute Ideas

We've gotten some new items that are perfect for gifts, if you find you still have some people left on your list.

The Combo Case from della Q holds all your essentials: straight needles, circular needles, double points, crochet hooks, and a zipper pouch for notions! $42.50, silk.

This Chic-a bag is clear vinyl, so you can see which project you've got. The drawstring top is ideal for threading your yarn through. It's big enough to hold a sweater-sized project. $40, vinyl & vinyl-coated cotton.

A smaller Chic-a bag, the blossom bag expands to hold a scarf or sock project, and closes with a magnet. We love this little thing! $28.50.

More Wacky Woolies from Ireland. Sheep with great personality! A shoulder bag, pencil bag (perfect for crochet hooks), or a notebook. $9.70 - $22.

A complete set of crochet hooks from HiyaHiya - 17 hooks between 2mm (A/B) and 15mm (P/Q), with a silk case. $55.

Recent Arrivals

New in the shop this last week or so -

Little Prince sock yarn from Opal. Each colorway is related to the book.

Boboli Lace from Berroco. It's a DK weight, single-ply yarn in lovely multicolored shades.

Trendsetter Grace and Luna, perfect knit-along yarn to add some sparkle to any project.

Trendsetter Merino 6, our basic superwash DK merino that is also pre-shrunk. I did this fingerless glove in one evening! The pattern is called Verdure, and the pair takes just a little over one skein.

We've started getting Ultra Alpaca Light, the 50% wool/50% alpaca blend from Berroco that is such a delight to work with. We will continue to add to our color selection in the next few weeks, so keep looking for more yarn!

On the way - Dream in Color Posh Sport, and Everlasting DK (should be here in 2-3 weeks.) Also remember that we're always happy to order any color we don't have on the shelf!

Gorgeous Lace Wrap | Silk & Merino

Jennifer has been busy knitting this lace wrap, and I think you'll agree it was worth the effort.

The pattern is called Pebbly Mesh Lace Wrap. She used two skeins of Nico, a single-ply wool and nylon blend with shimmery metallic throughout. It's very soft, and the lace pattern is perfect to highlight the sumptuousness of the yarn.

At $9.10 per skein, this is a very economical knit. The finished size is 18" x 80". The pattern is available in the shop for $5.

Our newest arrival for fall is Merino and Silk, an aran weight yarn that is 70% merino wool and 30% silk. It's also single-ply, and is 120 yds/50g. (That's great yardage!) It's $10 a ball.

It comes in a range of saturated jewel tones we think are just beautiful. We have a cowl pattern that you can do with one or two skeins.

Oh, Happy Sock Yarn!

Lang has some new fingering weight yarns that we're very excited about!

Jawoll Magic Degrade, with long, gradual color changes. Also 100g/437 yds. Superwash merino & nylon.

Mille Colori Baby! Same wonderful yarn, but in different colors, and in 50g/200 yd balls.

What to do with these great new yarns...

As you may have seen, we've gotten a big order of Colinette Jitterbug in. So of course, I've gone looking for patterns.

The first one I found is a shawl that's quite attractive in either a semi-solid or a variegated yarn, and we have some of each! It's called Vitruvian.

These cute socks are called Fishtail Hollow.

And remember the Tara Tweed that came in last week? Here's a really nice hat from the Interweave Holiday Gifts magazine - and we just got that magazine in, too!
