Mitten & Sock

All I can say is,
1) Never promise to finish a pattern you think you'll do while on a camping trip.
2) Never promise to knit two things you think you'll do while on a camping trip.
3) Never underestimate the power of sick kids to keep you from doing the things you thought you'd do while camping when you get back home.

In any case, I'm almost there, I swear. The mitten pattern is written out for the left hand, with the right soon to come. (Experienced knitters won't have any trouble reversing the pattern, but it also won't take me long to type it out.) This is as far as I've gotten with my mitten, and my Crack Test Knitter has already started churning out another pair to use as shop models.
Without further ado, I bring you Askew. The featured yarn is Twilley's of Stamford Freedom Spirit. It patterns itself very prettily.

The sock is an awesome pattern written by our very own Jennifer, aka Scrapdash. Jennifer's original Off Road Sock used Crystal Palace Maizy, but because we've already featured Crystal Palace Sock yarns, we decided to use Kraemer Saucon Sock this month. It's perfect for this pattern, and a good chance to try our newest sock yarn. It's a very subtle tweed that will show off the sinuous cables of Jennifer's design.

Mimi and her new help

Mimi had some help from two lovely assistants last week, as she was pricing Marble Chunky yarn. Caleb & Ainsley helped her stick price tags on the yarn, and stack it on the shelves.

Movie Night!

Hey Twisters! Saturday, October 3, is Twist Movie Night - time to settle in a comfy chair or couch, share some snacks, watch a good film, and get some knitting done.

Bring a DVD if you’d like - we’ll vote on what to watch. Folks have suggested titles in the “Movie Night” thread on Ravelry’s Twist board if you’re looking for suggestions. Also, please bring a snack to share! Movie Night just ain’t Movie Night without something to munch on.

The fun starts next Saturday at 6! Hope to see you all there!

Have I Done Her In?

Poor Susan. After the UPS delivery, I called her and plaintively said, "help..."

After three huge boxes of yarn, she is no longer amused.

She's been pricing for hours.

The good news is that she has face-planted in some Noro Silk Garden. Nice!

Other great yarns that have arrived:
Araucania Panguipulli
Snuggly Baby Bamboo
Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino
Prism Merino Mia
Noro Kureyon

Much, much more arriving tomorrow & next week!

Note from Home

from Shelly

So, I've been sick the last couple of days, and Susan is valiantly holding down the fort while I stay home & sleep. My sincerest thanks to her!

I'm surfacing long enough to say that Lantern Moon needles came in today. We are fully stocked in straight needles, and we have also gotten the new Lantern Moon crochet hooks. AND! we've started carrying the Destiny circular needles - starting with Rosewood, sizes US 6 - US 10.

That's all, I was just very excited and wanted to share. I'll be back in the shop tomorrow afternoon, minus the sore throat and cough.
