New from Tahki

We're happy to introduce a couple of new yarns from Tahki Stacy Charles.

The first is Tara Tweed, a really nice 80% wool, 20% nylon, aran weight yarn that is durable, yet soft. It is ideal for sweaters & hats.

Next we have Mixy. Super cute, subtle stripes. Will be great for scarves & cowls. We're starting a great vest pattern in this yarn (called Lolita). Will post when finished!

Maya is our newest ruffle yarn. It has a ribbin trim that's unlike anything we've seen, yet. Great for holiday projects - keep it in mind for something quick & pretty.

Japanese Feather Stole (or scarf)

We just got in a shipment of Vice Yarns Covet, a light fingering-weight, 6-ply yarn made from superwash merino wool. The construction makes for beautiful stitch definition and superior wear.

Di knitted this gorgeous stole with just one skein. It's a pattern by Anne Hanson called Japanese Feather Scarf or Stole.

I was recently engaging in one of my favorite activities: browsing patterns on Ravelry. I found a few patterns that were especially exciting, and thought I'd share them with you.

This one is called That Beautiful Season; Summer Scarf. I thought it would be gorgeous in our Handmaiden Lino (silk and linen blend), and would only take one skein.

I thought this Crossroads Hat looked really cool. It comes in sizes infant-adult. It would look great in Vintage DK, I think.

This Cameo shawl is fantastic, and would look amazing with a ball of Zauberball Crazy and a couple complimentary solids (a la Color Affection.)

You could to this lovely crochet capelet - Still of the Night - with one skein of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted. I love that it has a collar, and looks great in multi-colored yarn.

A Very Special Arrival

We've gotten a small, exclusive order from Handmaiden Fine Yarn. Lino, which is 65% silk and 35% linen. Laceweight, and 870 yards per skein. ($40 per skein).

What should you do with this special yarn?

Jen is going to work the Holey Square Shawl.

I looked at the Ravelry Pattern Ideas page for this yarn (it shows different projects that people have done using Lino) and found a few that look good. Camino Bubbles is completely intriguing. Summit from Knitty would be an awesome choice, too (thanks for the suggestion, Lindsey!).

Here we are, at the last week of July. It sure has been fun celebrating our 6th birthday with you. Thank you for being a part of Twist!
