T-shirt design?

After enduring some ribbing last night, I'm thinking of designing a shirt that says, "Don't tease your wife while she's holding pointy sticks."

Now that I've written that and noticed the pun potential of "ribbing," I wonder what another good shirt slogan might be?

Doing the Jitterbug

Well, I couldn't resist picking up some of that Jitterbug and starting a sock. And this is where I wax rhapsodic about the yarn:

I equate it with eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The base color of the yarn is like the base ice cream. It is great. I mean, it's better-than-average ice cream for sure, and extremely enjoyable. Knitting in this subtle chocolatey-brown/beige is lovely and would be rewarding in itself. And then you get to the yummy bits of chocolate covered-cashew, or fudge fish, and you're like, "Wow!" When I get to the brightly colored bits with the depth and saturation of the colors, it's just like hitting the crunchy bits in Creme Brulee'. Then I find myself looking forward to knitting down to the little nuggets of color, just like I dig in the pint with my spoon.

In other news, the newest edition of Knitter's Magazine arrived today.

I also got some roving from a farmer in Manhattan, KS. He raises Corriedale sheep, and I've got several 100g balls of dark brown (all natural color!) wool roving in a fine and medium grade. If you spin, you may want to come by and check it out. Local fleece!

Exciting New Stuff!

New blog site, and new stuff in the shop!

Just got a HUGE shipment of 30 solid colors of Jawoll sock yarn.

Also got several colorways of Colinette Jitterbug. Yummy! Those will continue to come in, as several of the colorways I ordered were backordered. Keep checking the new Sock Corner of the shop.

The first meeting of the Lizard Ridge club went quite well, I thought -- especially considering it was the first time for the majority of the members to tackle short rows. We worked well together, teaching each other how to pick up the wraps and figuring out where there were a couple of typos in the pattern. If you can't make it to the shop on the third Friday of the month, well, you can certainly follow along with us online if you wish!
